In the early 90’s Sybase trended within the Investment Banking sector. 3rd party applications such as Murex, Market Data, Summit, FIRM are still using Sybase running on Solaris 8. This is very much a testament to Sybase’s position in this space. Some of the Banks are hesitant to move their Front office Sybase applications and databases to new operating systems due to the resilience.

SAP already support Sybase ASE on AWS but there is no functional difference between on-premise and Cloud. SAP in 2020 will deliver ASE for all hyperscalers but with a difference. The new version will be cloud enabled so customers are able to benefit functionally from cloud computing. XTREME DB SYSTEMS have already engaged with customers to migrate Oracle & MS-SQL to Azure, Google and AWS and well positioned to support Sybase ASE in the cloud
